This Pastel Pink 80 Foot Sailing Yacht Is Hopping on the Marine World’s Most Colorful Trend

They say two is a coincidence and three is a trend. If that’s the case, rose colored yachts could be the next big thing in boating. Baltic Yachts just unveiled a new sloop with a striking pastel pink hull. The bold colorway is a first for the Finnish yard, but not for the industry. VisionF presented a pink 80 foot catamaran last October, while Bilgin Yachts and Rossinavi launched red superyachts last February and June, respectively.

(Baltic also built the world’s largest carbon fiber sloop , which has a hot pink sail.) First teased in November 2022, the Baltic 80 Custom is billed as a multi purpose sailing yacht capable of both offshore cruising and fast sprints on the race course. The bespoke vessel was commissioned by an experienced owner seeking an 80 footer with excellent handling.

As such, the newcomer features a self tacking jib set on a wide track that makes it easy to sail. The rig design has yet to be confirmed, but the yacht will be fitted with an in boom furling system. Penned by German studio Judel/Vrolijk & Co, the exterior is characterized by sleek lines and a distinctive reverse angle stem.

The custom cruiser will be built in advanced composites with prepreg materials and a foam core. Her low level coachroof features a fold down dodger and bimini for protection against the elements. In addition, the yacht will be equipped with twin rudders, a lifting keel, and a conventional propulsion system that drives a folding propeller.

Baltic didn’t provide an estimated top speed, but says the vessel will be “a great performance cruiser racer.” Onboard, the living quarters offer three double cabins for six guests and one cabin for two crew. The interior will be designed by Baltic, Jens Paulus, and Axel Vervoordt. The yacht will also sport an oversized stern garage that can house a Williams 395 tender.

Construction on the Baltic 80 Custom is already underway, with delivery expected to take place this summer. Baltic is also working on a 65 foot custom sloop. The all carbon Baltic 65 Custom was designed by the American naval architects at Sparkman & Stephens and is described as a sophisticated daysailer.

The smaller successor will also be delivered this year. Perhaps the 65 footer has a funky pink paint job, too. Digital Editor Rachel Cormack is a digital editor at Robb Report.
