A somber discovery has brought a tragic close to weeks of agonizing uncertainty for the family and fans of Ludhiana-based singer Shivam Sharma, better known by his stage name, Vicky. His body, sadly, was retrieved from the Neelon Canal near Samrala, finally providing a grim answer to his disappearance. This grim development didn't come out of nowhere; it followed the crucial arrest of a key suspect, Gagan Hayer, who was recently extradited from Canada.

Hayer, you see, is no ordinary suspect; he's allegedly a close associate of the notorious gangster Arsh Dalla, whose network, unfortunately, stretches far beyond Punjab's borders. The authorities, specifically the Special Task Force (STF) and the Ludhiana Rural Police, had been tirelessly working this case, and Hayer's apprehension marked a significant turning point in connecting the dots of this intricate and deeply disturbing crime.

Now, what exactly led to this tragedy? Well, according to the police, the roots of this murder lie in a thorny property dispute. It seems Gagan Hayer's own brother, Sukhmanpreet Singh, also known as Sukhman, and his wife, Mandeep Kaur, were embroiled in this messy affair. Vicky, our singer, had initially stepped in, trying to mediate between the warring couple. But, as these things often go, allegiances shifted. Vicky allegedly started siding with Mandeep Kaur, a move that apparently infuriated Gagan Hayer to no end.

The method of murder, as chillingly pieced together by investigators, suggests a pre-meditated act. It's alleged that Vicky was first sedated – probably to incapacitate him – and then, in a truly horrifying turn, drowned in the Neelon Canal. Among them were Sukhman (Gagan's brother), Mandeep Kaur (Sukhman's wife), and an associate named Jagjit Singh. Their questioning, one can imagine, paved the way for identifying Gagan Hayer as the alleged mastermind and for the subsequent efforts to bring him back to India to face justice. Gagan Hayer, on the other hand, carried a heavy past. He was reportedly involved in a few criminal cases back in Ludhiana before he fled the country, including an attempt to murder case from 2020 and a snatching incident from 2021.
