“The Bear” star Ebon Moss Bachrach got a sweet message from Taylor Swift after he mentioned her in his 2024 Critics Choice Awards speech on Sunday. The actor, 46, scored the accolade for best supporting actor in a comedy series for the Hulu series. “I’ve gotta thank my two special scene partners this year, Olivia Colman and Taylor Swift,” Moss Bachrach said in his acceptance speech.
The “Bad Reputation” singer, 34, then took to X on Monday to write: “Congratulations!! ” in response to his award. The shout out referred to a season 2 episode of “The Bear,” in which his character, Richie, was anxious to get Swift concert tickets for his daughter and ex wife. Later in the episode, Moss Bachrach sang the Grammy winner’s hit “Love Story” while driving his car.
Colman, 49, on the other hand, also appeared on the series as Chef Terry. “The Crown” alum was featured as a cook working at Richie’s retreat at a world famous restaurant. The duo even shared an emotional scene together in the episode. In the “Girls” actor’s address to the Critics Choice audience, he went on about his character development.
“This is such a privilege to play this part,” he gushed. “Really beautiful experience to take this man kind of from a tough place into the light. It’s not often you get to do that — to play joy. And it’s been a really wonderful, special, special experience for me.” The comedy show won four awards during the ceremony on Jan.
14, with star Jeremy Allen White winning Best Actor in a Comedy Series and Ayo Edebiri earning the Best Actress award. The show also emerged victorious winning the Best Comedy Series statuette. “The Bear” also came in hot last week at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards , nominated for five awards. White, 32, and Edebiri, 28, both acquired golden statuettes for their work on the show.
As for Swift, she attended the 2024 Golden Globes on Jan. 7, where host Jo Koy seemingly mocked her . The “Valentine’s Day” actress glared at the comedian, 52, when he quipped onstage: “The big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL is that at the Golden Globes, we have fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift.” Swift is currently dating football player Travis Kelce, and Koy’s joke referred to the hefty amount of times the NFL broadcasts her appearance at the games over the actual plays..
