Slipknot’s Corey Taylor Cancels Solo Tour Due to ‘Mental and Physical Health’ Issues

Corey Taylor will not be going on the road this year. The Slipknot frontman announced “with a heavy heart” on Friday that he would be stepping away from his upcoming run of shows to focus on his health. “For the past several months my mental and physical health have been breaking down, and I reached a place that was unhealthy for my family and me,” he wrote on Instagram.

“I know this decision will come as a shock to some and may be regarded as unpopular by others – but after taking a hard look at where I am and where I was going, I need to pull myself back and be home with my family for the time being.” A post shared by Corey Taylor (@coreytaylor) The singer was set to commence his tour on Feb.

3 in Toronto, before making his way through the United States. He was scheduled to perform through March 3 with Des Rocs and Jigsaw Youth joining him on the road as openers. “I send my love to the fans, my band, my family & friends, and everyone who’s helped me get here thus far,” he wrote.

“I promise I’m doing everything I can to be as healthy as I can be. Until then, my apologies to everyone we would have seen on the tour – and hopefully, we’ll see you again down the line.” Taylor last spoke to Rolling Stone early last year about the music video for his single “Beyond” from his album CMF2 , which he dropped on Sept.

15. The album followed Taylor’s first solo album, 2020’s CMFT . The newest project, he said, is “where we’re going.” “It’s a representation of where we are right now as a nation, as a country, as a people,” he said of the “Beyond” visual. “The fact that no one accepts that Americans look different, talk different, speak different, love different is completely fucking ludicrous.

So this video is a journey of where America is right now going to where America is right now, because like it or not, this is America, man.”.
