Senators have approached Tesla and 12 other car manufacturers, urging them to be receptive to trade union efforts within their workforce. As these companies are beneficiaries of federal funds tied to the electric vehicle industry, the Senators emphasized the importance of them respecting employees' rights. The Senators stressed the necessity for fair wage negotiations and highlighted their worries about indications that some companies were not treating their workforce well. Their prompt was an agreement in the previous year between the United Auto Workers (UAW) union and the likes of Ford, General Motors, and Stellantis. Following the agreement, UAW declared its plans to encourage unionization in automakers currently bereft of unions. BMW, Honda, Hyundai, Lucid, Mazda, Mercedes, Nissan, Rivian, Subaru, Tesla, Toyota, Volkswagen, and Volvo were all recipients of the Senators' message; these are the same companies being targeted by the union. Separately, there's progress on a carbon offset project involving Native tribes in Juneau, Alaska, provided that they agree to its preservation. Subscribe for more updates.
