Safe Home Trailer: Aisha Dee Tries To Escape Her Shady Past By has released the official trailer for the upcoming Australian drama , starring ’s as a 28 year old woman trying to find a new outlook in life. The four episode limited series will make its US debut on January 9, premiering exclusively on the streamer.
What is Safe Home about? Created by Anna Barnes, Safe Home follows Phoebe Rook (Dee) as she leaves her public relations job to start a new life. She soon secures a new job at a free legal service that would help her find meaning in her life — or so she thought. In a job that assists people escaping domestic violence, Phoebe turns out to be escaping a situation of her own: a seemingly shady past.
When she becomes embroiled in a complicated case, people and journalists alike start to investigate the misconduct at the high profile law firm she previously worked at. “When Phoebe witnesses a violent murder, she is thrown right into the dark heart of the problem she is trying to help solve and discovers that there are only two types of people in this world — those that think domestic violence would never happen to them, and those that know it can happen to anyone,” the synopsis reads.
Dee, who used to portray an insane lifestyle vlogger in Sissy, is evidently no stranger to playing roles like Phoebe Rook. Her other film and television credits include The Nowhere Inn, , Dead Gorgeous, Sweet/Vicious, and Ghosting: The Spirit of Christmas. Joining her are Mabel Li, Virginia Gay, Thomas Cocquerel, Antonia Prebble, Hal Cumpston, Chenoa Deemal, David Roberts, Janet Andrewartha, Mark Mitchinson, Tegan Stimson, Katlyn Wong, Nicholas Burton, and Yuchen Wang.
Stevie Cruz Martin serves as the show’s director, with Barnes, Michelle Law, and Jean Tong as co writers. Safe Home is co produced by Emelyne Palmer.
