Cricket SA20 2024: Complete schedule, squads, live streaming, 2023 season recap and all you need to know We now take a look at the full team squads, fixtures and venues ahead of the 2024 edition of the SA20 tournament that is scheduled to start on Wednesday (10 January). FP Trending January 10, 2024 13:50:57 IST The six team captains along with tournament commissioner Graeme Smith pose with the SA20 trophy ahead of the 2024 season.
Sportzpics The second edition of the SA20 tournament is scheduled to commence on Wednesday (10 January) with a game between defending champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape and Joburg Super Kings at St Gorge’s Park in Gqeberha. Like last season, six teams —Sunrisers Eastern Cape, Joburg Super Kings, MI Cape Town, Pretoria Capitals, Durban Super Giants and Paarl Royals will compete for the trophy this season with the final slated for 10 February.
While last season followed a semi finals followed by a final format as far as the knockout stage is concerned, this season will introduce an IPL style knockout stage. The first and the second placed teams will face each other in Qualifier 1, while the third and fourth placed teams lock horns in the Eliminator.
The winner of Qualifier 1 directly qualifies for the final, while the loser of that game takes on the winner of Eliminator in Qualifier 2. The winners of Qualifier 2 will then advance to the final.
