Earlier, India had scored 6 ducks in a single innings against England, back in 2014 while playing in Manchester. Back then, India were bowled out for 152 runs. Earlier in the Test match, India bowled out South Africa for just 55 runs in the first session of Day 1. India's Mohammed Siraj ran through the line up and picked up 6 wickets to his name.
India were looking good in their first innings but their epic collapse cut them short. South Africa pacers Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi and Nandre Burger picked 3 wickets each as India collapsed in the final session of the same day. To put things into context, the highest number of wickets ever lost on Day one of a Test match is 25, which happened back in 1902 between Australia and England in Melbourne..
