Realme 12 Pro series expected to launch in India in January: All the details

Realme is teasing the launch of the Realme 12 Pro series, which is expected to feature a periscope camera. The company recently launched the GT5 Pro in China, with no news on its availability in other markets. Realme India has shared a teaser hinting at a big update, possibly related to the Realme 12 Pro.

The design and specifications of the upcoming smartphone are still unknown, but more information is expected to emerge soon. The Realme 12 Pro and 12 Pro+ have received BIS certification, indicating a possible launch this month. Realme is teasing the launch of its next smartphone, the Realme 12 Pro series.

The company posted a teaser image, reading, “No periscope. No flagship,” and the caption read, “Our upcoming surprise is designed to elevate your understanding of the latest technology.” The new series is expected to bring back the periscope camera to Realme smartphones, which was last seen in the X3 SuperZoom .

Though the company recently launched the GT5 Pro, it is only available in China, and there is no news yet on when it will be released in other markets. The periscope camera is expected to be on the higher end Realme 12 Pro+ model and will succeed the Realme 11 Pro+ that launched in India in December 2020.

It is also possible that Realme may introduce the Realme 12 Pro in the Indian market alongside the Pro+ model. Realme India has recently shared a teaser on their social media platforms, asking their followers to stay tuned for a big update. The teaser included an image of a Morse code, which translates to "MAKE IT REAL", along with the date January 3rd and time 7:30 AM IST.

This global launch event is expected to occur in India, as the same date and time were shared by Realme Global. Details concerning the design and specifications of the upcoming smartphone are scarce at the moment. However, more information is expected to emerge in the coming weeks as the launch approaches.

The Realme 12 Pro and 12 Pro+, with the model numbers RMX3842 and RMX3840, received BIS certification in December. This means that we could see the phones as early as this month.
