RCMP nab two following traffic stop on a Manitoba highway

A traffic stop on a Manitoba highway has led to multiple charges against two individuals. A vehicle was spotted by the Virden RCMP on Highway 21, near Sioux Valley Dakota Nation, at around 11:45 p.m. on January 3. The vehicle was reportedly moving at a slower speed than the set limit, prompting the traffic stop. Upon investigation, a 40-year-old female driver was arrested for violating her curfew conditions. A 35-year-old male passenger, who had an outstanding warrant, was also taken into custody. Authorities then conducted a search of the vehicle which yielded methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and a rifle with ammunition. The pair are now facing drug-related charges, with the driver being additionally charged with firearm offences. They have since been released pending a future court appearance.
