Authorities have apprehended a 33-year old man in connection with three outstanding arrest warrants in Winnipeg. The arrest took place at an apartment complex, with the Manitoba RCMP leading the operation. The mission, which happened on Dec. 21, 2023, was part of a larger, ongoing investigation.
According to officials, upon the arrival of the police, the suspect exited the apartment complex. An officer attempted to apprehend him, informing him of his impending arrest. The suspect, however, failed to adhere to the officer's commands, and tried to escape the scene in a vehicle. He was eventually subdued and arrested.
The police later confirmed that the vehicle the suspect tried to escape in was reported stolen from Headingley. The man is now facing an array of charges, including dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, resisting arrest, and violation of compliance protocol.
Authorities also revealed that he is a person of interest in a series of ongoing property crime investigations, thus possibly leading to further charges.
