NYT Games Adds Feature That Sends Reporter To Player’s House For Round Of Scrabble

NEW YORK—In an innovative expansion of its popular puzzle section, Games department announced a new feature Thursday that sends reporters to subscribers’ homes to play a round of Scrabble. “Our readers can’t get enough of engaging games like Wordle and Connections, and now a $50 annual Games subscription allows you to summon a journalist to your doorstep to play the board game of your choosing,” said department spokesperson Kaia Marshall, who demonstrated how, with the touch of a button, readers could choose which reporter they wanted to immediately drop what they were doing and come to their home.

“It’s everything you already love about NYT Games, but in your living room and with one of our award winning journalists. You can play Boggle with Nikole Hannah Jones, Bananagrams with A.O. Scott, or Codenames with the entire staff—the choice is yours. Unfortunately, our reporters will only have two to three hours to drink coffee and argue whether ‘Qi’ is a valid Scrabble word, so you’ll be limited to one round per day.” At press time, the Games department was reportedly suspending the feature after user complaints of Bret Stephens..
