The man, who was fielding for his team, was struck on the head by a ball from another match being played simultaneously on the same ground. The impact caused him to fall unconscious. Notably, it's common for multiple matches to take place on a single ground in Mumbai, and players sometimes get injured by balls from other matches.

However, this is the first instance that such an accident led to someone's demise during a match. As per Deepak Chauhan, the senior inspector of Matunga Police, an Accidental Death Report (ADR) has been filed in this case, and an investigation is underway. While no interrogations have been conducted yet, further inquiries may take place as necessary.

Following the post mortem examination, Jaiesh Savla's body has been handed over to his family. Jaiesh was professionally engaged as a businessman." "There were two matches taking place on the same ground, and while Savla was fielding for his team, a ball that was hit by a batsman from another match suddenly hit him on his head due to which he fell unconscious," the official said.

Emergency services were promptly called, and Savla was rushed to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, he was declared dead before admission due to a head injury sustained from the incident.
