Most popular Xbox games — Assassin's Creed Valhalla resurfaces thanks to Game Pass

Here is the top 40 Xbox Gameplay Chart for the week ending January 14, 2024. Fortnite and Call of Duty haven't budged out of the top two spots. Minecraft has dislodged GTA V from third while Roblox is down to seventh and Apex Legends has just managed to climb back into the top ten. The Finals continues to slide down the chart, falling two spots to 12th, while Forza Horizon 5 is down to 14th and Baldur's Gate 3 has slipped a spot to 16th.

The first big change is Assassin's Creed Valhalla re joining the top 40 at 18th after it joined Game Pass last week. It's a big addition to the service ( here's why we think you should play it ) and if you do become a fan, its DLC is currently 60% off . Below that, we have a spate of games dropping down the list, with Far Cry 6, Starfield, Halo MCC, FIFA 23, Sea of Thieves, Cyberpunk 2077, and Fall Guys all dropping.

If you have finished up with Cyberpunk 2077 — and its excellent Phantom Liberty expansion — then worry not, for it was apparently "just a warm up" ahead of the sequel . There aren't too many major changes throughout the rest of the chart. Goat Simulator 3 has had quite a tumble, falling from 29th to 37th (perhaps as more players pick up a newer addition to Game Pass), while Smite has just managed to jump back up to the top 40 at 39th.
