The Pillow King’s cozy relationship with Fox News took to X to reveal the conservative news network, one of his company’s biggest advertising outlets, has stopped running his commercials. “ ,” he said in a brief clip shared online Friday night. “We don’t know why, we can only make a couple guesses.” Lindell initially suggested their souring relationship could be because he recently hired Fox alum Lou Dobbs.
Dobbs hosted “Lou Dobbs Tonight” on Fox from March 2011 until its cancelation in 2021. Like Lindell, 78 year old Dobbs has parroted claims of voiced by former President Trump, who has repeatedly proclaimed the presidency was stolen from him in 2020, in part, In April 2023, nearly $800 million to avoid a trial in the voting machine company’s lawsuit, which would have outlined how the network promoted lies about the 2020 election on shows by Dobbs and other hosts.
Dobbs’ debut show on Lindell TV Monday night featured an interview with Trump, who again reiterated those allegations. Lindell’s peddling of the same theories has seen his MyPillow products at major retailers, including Walmart. “Or maybe its because they don’t want to see my face on their network leading up to the 2024 election in support of our great real president, Donald Trump,” Lindell continued, adding that he is still unsure of the details.
“All I know is the commercials have been canceled. Anything with MyPillow or Mike Lindell has been canceled on Fox News.” Fox News has since rejected Lindell’s speculation, saying the ad partnership was paused because the MyPillow CEO has not been able to finance the commercial spots. “As soon as their account is paid, we would be happy to accept their advertising,” Fox spokeswoman Irena Briganti said.
Lindell in an interview with the Associated Press, acknowledged MyPillow owes Fox about $7.8 million, but maintained the sum is within his credit line with the network. He added that his pillow empire shells out an average of $1 million a week to run its ads on Fox. What’s more, Lindell continued, the network had long allowed him 12 weeks of credit, but it recently slashed that to eight.
Fox News wants to silence him, he said, “because I want to ” — an assertion the network has denied. Despite the drama, Lindell said that MyPillow is “doing great,” adding that his commercials continue to run on Newsmax and other platforms. He also conceded losing slots on Fox would likely have a negative impact on his business.
Lindell concluded: “Obviously, it would be great if Fox said, ‘Hey, come back.”.
