Meesho resumes campus hiring, recruits 150 candidates in 2023: Report

Meesho, an online shopping platform that suspended its campus recruitment activities in 2022, announced its hire of 150 new staff members in 2023. The e-commerce start-up, backed by SoftBank, has confirmed plans to hire additional young professionals in 2024. As reported by ET, the company is recruiting for numerous roles including technology, product analytics, monetizing, finance growth, consumer experience, and human resources. Further, the English newspaper revealed Meesho's targeted campuses for recruitment include IIT Bombay, Kharagpur, Roorkee, Madras, BHU, Indian Institute of Science (IISC), Indian Institute of Information Technology (III) Allahabad, BITS Pilani, Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) Lucknow and Kozhikode, National Institutes of Technology Delhi, Bhopal, Sura and Calicut, Indian Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and Management Development Institute (MDI). In 2021, Meesho hired 150 students across various tech and non-tech roles. This year's campus selection will also feature new institutions such as IIIT Bangalore, IIIT Lucknow, IIIT Jabalpur, and IIIT Kota. In December 2023, Meesho declared itself the first e-commerce unicorn to report a net profit for Q2 2023, but did not reveal the exact figure. During H1 FY2024, Meesho reported a 141-crore reduction in loss and a revenue uptick of 37% YoY, amounting to 3,521 crores. The company stated that this was due to an increase in app downloads in India in 2022 and 2023, a rise in transaction frequency among current users, an expanded product category, and enhanced monetisation via various seller services.
