Jay Z and Beyoncé often hung out at this plush pad on the Upper West Side when they were brainstorming with Norton Cher to create their Rocawear fashion brand. Now, Cher is listing the apartment , at 220 Riverside Blvd., for $5.99 million — or as a $19,990 a month rental. The brand sold for $204 million in cash in 2007, plus an additional $35 million in stock, according to reports .
The three bedroom, three bath apartment on the 24th floor is around 3,000 square feet and comes with a home office. This was Cher’s home during the brand’s rise to fame and the multimillion dollar sale. “This apartment isn’t just a residence, it’s a piece of pop culture history as Norton’s home base during a significant era in fashion and music history,” said listing brokers Alexander Zakharin and Yana Aleksyeyenko, of Nest Seekers International.
The corner perch features river views. It opens to a foyer that leads to a great room with large picture windows overlooking the Hudson River and the city skyline. The main bedroom corner suite features floor to ceiling windows and a custom home office separated by a sliding door, along with a spa like bath and two walk in closets, plus an additional wall of closets. Details also include hardwood floors, custom cabinets, blackout blinds and surround sound. The 48 story building features amenities like a gym, a pool and hot tub, sauna and steam rooms, massage treatment rooms, a billiards room, a playroom, a private event space and an interior garden, along with underground parking..
