Running back Jam Griffin is returning to Oregon State for his senior year after spending one year at Mississippi. Griffin announced Sunday that he’s transferring to OSU to bolster the Beavers’ running back position. Griffin played at Oregon State during the 2022 season after spending three years at Georgia Tech.
Griffin rushed for 488 yards and four touchdowns for Oregon State in 2022. The 5 foot 9, 210 pound Griffin didn’t see much action at Mississippi, rushing for 39 yards with seven carries. Most of Griffin’s action came on special teams. Griffin has 904 rushing yards during his college career. He’ll return to Oregon State looking for playing time behind rising junior Damien Martinez, a two time all conference running back.
In 2022, Griffin saw plenty of action as a backup, as he had 90 touches between carries and pass receptions. Oregon State is suddenly well stocked at running back position, with Griffin joining Martinez, Isaiah Newell, Jake Reichle, Colorado transfer Anthony Hankerson and incoming recruits Salahadin Allah and Cornell Hatcher.
