Iran Stands Firm: No Nuclear Talks Without Sanctions Relief

In a bold declaration, Iran has emphatically rejected United States demands for direct talks regarding its controversial nuclear program, asserting that any discussions are contingent upon the immediate and unconditional lifting of all United Nations sanctions. This steadfast position underscores the persistent diplomatic impasse between Tehran and Washington, further complicating international efforts to revive the 2015 nuclear accord, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian reiterated his nation's unwavering stance during a high-profile interview, making it unequivocally clear that the ball is now in Washington's court.

"The lifting of all UN sanctions is the prerequisite for any form of direct engagement," Amirabdollahian stated, signaling a firm refusal to yield to external pressure. This includes a particular rejection of any new Security Council resolutions or punitive measures, especially those targeting Iran's advanced ballistic missile program, which Tehran views as a critical component of its defensive capabilities.
