Internet services and social media platforms were reportedly down in parts of the country as users complained about outages and connectivity issued on Sunday evening. Netizens complained about their inability to connect to social media sites including X — formerly known as Twitter — Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and streaming giant YouTube.
As per downdetector.pk, Google services as well as internet service provider the PTCL also faced disruption around 5pm on Sunday. A sharp rise in connection outages on YouTube, X and Facebook was seen in downdetector's graphs. The reason behind the outage is yet not clear as the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has not issued any statement on the matter till the filing of this report.
