DeepBrain AI, a deep learning based video synthesis company known for its patent led technology – the generation of the world's fastest and most realistic human like AI avatars has recently collaborated with tech giant – Lenovo and charitable research institution – the Scott Morgan Foundation.
The firms united to develop and deliver a hyper realistic AI avatar specifically focused on helping someone with a debilitating disease like ALS according to an official statement by DeepBrain AI. The foundation worked with the tech companies to help Erin Taylor, a 24 year old woman recently diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis).
This condition commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease, is characterized by progressive degeneration of nerve cells in the spinal cord and brain as per John Hopkins Medicine. ALS is classed as a fatal type of motor neuron disease, making it one of the most debilitating disorders impacting nerve and muscle function.
The organizations sought to help individuals with such conditions through an AI avatar. The avatar is part of a comprehensive set of assistive technology tools designed to empower Erin to interact with technology, communicate with people, and stay connected. Erin visited the DeepBrain AI video studio in California, for the avatar creation process.
Now, the firms illustrated Erin’s avatar at the 2024 (CES) in Las Vegas which officially started on January 9 and will end on January 12. The collaboration aimed to use AI technology, specifically AI avatars, to assist individuals with debilitating diseases like ALS. The goal was to empower Erin to continue interacting with technology, communicating, and staying connected despite the challenges posed by ALS.
The collaboration is part of a broader effort to build an ecosystem of complementary solutions to improve the lives of individuals living with disabilities. During CES 2024, DeepBrain AI provided Erin access to AI Studios, enabling her to utilize her personalized avatar for generating an extensive array of social media videos.
These videos showcase her interests in botany, the environment, and even her latest book reviews. Erin's AI avatar is readily available to assist her in crafting new content within our digitally interconnected world. "We are constantly amazed at how our partners and clients think of new ways to use AI generated video.
Lenovo had the foresight to share their vision on how this technology could be implemented as a component of an assistive technology platform," stated Eric Jang, CEO of DeepBrain AI. "Future developments at DeepBrain will enable hyper realistic avatars for everyone." Andrew Morgan, CEO of the Scott Morgan Foundation said: "We are building an ecosystem of complementary solutions to change what it means to live with a disability.” "This growing collaboration showcases the power of mission driven companies coming together.
Individually, their innovations change lives. Together, they disrupt the entire landscape.".
