Gujarat: Over 1000 city bus drivers hold 3 day strike against new hit and run law in Surat

More than 1000 city bus drivers went on a 3 day strike against Surat Municipal Corporation in Gujarat’s Surat on January 01. Protesters blocked the road and raised slogans against the newly implemented law for hit and run cases. People, who daily travel by government buses, are facing problems as bus drivers stopped the operation of bus in the city. Notably, the law has imposed a fine of Rs 10 lakh and seven year imprisonment for accidental death.
