Farming adventure Tales of Seikyu invites you to entertain monsters in your inn, and become one

A forthcoming agricultural simulation game will unfurl in a mystical world inhabited by spirits and creatures. The game's storyline sets the player on a quest to refurbish a decaying countryside inn in a region teeming with humans, monsters, and more. The game, primed for launch, also offers cooperative play and introduces an innovative feature of imbibing power from monsters and creatures through ancient masks. For instance, one can harness the power of a boar to cultivate lands.

The game allows players to traverse the countryside and dive into a divine realm riddled with engaging riddles, presumably solved using powers from the magical masks. The developer teased a few transformations that players can experience, like turning into a crow tengu to fly or a dryad to climb cliffs, amongst others.

The game sticks to familiar elements like farming, constructing new buildings, and pastoral pursuits involving chickens and cows. However, it injects new ideas like transforming the renovated residence into a comfortable inn, attracting atrocities once again.

According to developer ACE Entertainment, the game draws on various world mythologies and folktales, resulting in an intriguing mix of Monsters, Youkai, and Gods. While the majority of villagers in Tales of Seikyu are based on Asian folklore, the game also features creatures from Western lore, offering players rich personal interactions with these diverse beings.

The trailer showcases a range of intriguing characters, including a winged woman, an otter-man, and a mushroom-like man. The winged woman is hinted as a potential romantic interest for the player. Tales of Seikyu plans to kick-off a Kickstarter campaign on January 12, 2024, and interested players can gather more information on its Steam page.
