Experience Nature in Luxury: Glamping Arrives at Pennsylvania State Parks!

Starting next year, four of the state's most picturesque parks will introduce fully-equipped, upscale camping sites, promising an unforgettable blend of rugged wilderness and modern comfort.

The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) has partnered with Tentrr, a New York-based company renowned for its unique glamping accommodations.

This exciting five-year pilot program aims to attract a broader demographic to the state's natural treasures, offering an accessible and appealing option for those who crave the outdoors without sacrificing the comforts of home.

Initially, 10 glamping sites will be established at each of the four chosen state parks: Bald Eagle State Park (Centre County), Poe Valley State Park (Centre County), Laurel Hill State Park (Somerset County), and Parker Dam State Park (Clearfield County).

These locations were carefully selected for their stunning natural beauty and diverse recreational opportunities, ensuring a prime glamping experience.

What can you expect from a Tentrr glamping site? Picture spacious canvas tents, thoughtfully pitched on elevated platforms, providing a cozy haven amidst the trees.

Inside, you'll find a comfortable queen-size bed, a wood stove to keep you warm on cooler evenings, and charming rustic decor. Outside, each site will feature a picnic table, Adirondack chairs perfect for stargazing, a fire pit for crackling campfires, a solar shower, and a portable toilet, ensuring all your essential needs are met in a private, scenic setting.

DCNR Secretary Cindy Adams Dunn emphasized the program's goal: "This new glamping opportunity provides another way for people to experience the outdoors and create a more inclusive and diverse outdoor experience." While the exact pricing will be competitive with other glamping options, Tentrr's current rates typically range from $135 to $150 per night, offering excellent value for the amenities and unique experience provided.
