Elvis Presley, the King of Rock 'n' Roll, is poised for a triumphant comeback in the form of an AI-powered hologram. The show named "Elvis Evolution," an innovative concert experience harnessing artificial intelligence and holographic technology, is set to debut in London this November with successive performances planned for Las Vegas, Tokyo, and Berlin. This unique concert is the collaborative effort of Authentic Brands Group, the custodian of the Elvis Presley estate, and Layered Reality, a British immersive entertainment firm, using countless personal photographs and home movies of the late musician. Layered Reality aims to engineer a life-sized digital representation of Elvis performing his legendary tracks.
The concert is being recognized as "a groundbreaking new show highlighting the magnificence of the world’s biggest superstar of stage and screen, Elvis Presley. The show climaxes with a concert that will emulate the transformative impact of Elvis’s live performances for a new generation of enthusiasts, combining reality and imagination. A full-sized digital Elvis Presley will exhibit his quintessential songs and dance moves for the first time on a UK stage... With AI and leading-edge technology, spectators will have the opportunity to enjoy iconic Elvis performances as if they were there in person, celebrating memorable moments from Elvis Presley’s phenomenal life and career."
Andrew McGuinness, CEO of Layered Reality, remarked that "Elvis Evolution is an avant-garde homage to the musical legend, Elvis Presley. Elvis's superstar stature is still intact across the globe and audiences nowadays wish to actively participate in entertainment rather than just witness it. This will be a nostalgia-inducing experience which Elvis fans and admirers around the globe would want to cross off their bucket lists; people will be transported into Elvis's world, experience his journey, and commemorate his remarkable musical heritage."
Marc Rosen, President of entertainment at Authentic Brands Group, also expressed excitement about the project, anticipating it to offer Elvis fans with an innovative, immersive method to encounter his life and legacy. "Elvis Evolution" is to place at an undisclosed venue in central London. Each concert will be succeeded by post-show celebrations at its Elvis-themed eatery and bar, featuring live music, DJs, and performances.
Elvis, despite passing away in 1977, remains an influential figure in popular culture and has inspired two recent film projects, 2022 Oscar-nominated "Elvis" directed by Baz Luhrmann and Sofia Coppola's recent biopic, "Priscilla". Similar to this, the British capital currently hosts "ABBA Voyage", a unique concert featuring digital versions of the Swedish band.
