YouTuber Matthew Perks, who also goes by Matt and runs a popular YouTube channel DIY Perks, unveiled the very first and unofficial PS5 tablet on his YouTube channel on Monday, which lets you play PlayStation games on the go, GamesRadar reported. Since the PS5's release, the YouTuber has been redesigning the device.
However, his most recent creation goes above and beyond the expectations. Taking the greatest features from the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation Portal, he has built the first ever all in one PS5 tablet. He disassembled the original console's many pieces and included the most crucial elements in his own PS5 tablet.
The content maker also had to engineer some aspects of it because of the size difference between the custom tablet and the original PS5 console to make it all work. The host of DIY Perks said he took this initiative since Sony hadn't entered the handheld market in more than 10 years, and because the PlayStation Portal just streams games, it wasn't considered a legitimate handheld gaming accessory, added GamesRadar .
The tablet edition PS5 is the real deal, made by cobbling together a PS5 motherboard with various other components, including a dedicated sub woofer and a gorgeous OLED harvested from an Alienware laptop. You can see how this creation came to be step by step by watching the video on his YouTube channel online.
Much of the video focuses on the trials of creating such a device. Although anybody could potentially manufacture this themselves, there were a few unconventional procedures involved, such as knowing how to electroplate a block with nickel and how to organise copper pipes to provide optimal heat distribution.
Regardless, the end project is a genuinely stunning piece of work. With 3D printed elements, the device is designed to look like a finished project, and it might put the latest Sony releases to shame. Unfortunately, the PS5 Tablet is just a fun hobbyist idea for now..
