Dan Quinn expected to be Seattle Seahawks' leading candidate to replace Pete Carroll, per reports

DALLAS — News broke Wednesday that Pete Carroll was out as the Seattle Seahawks head coach, but "he will remain with organization as an advisor." Almost immediately after Carroll's departure was reported, NFL insiders tabbed Dallas Cowboys Defensive Coordinator Dan Quinn as a leading candidate to replace Carroll.
ESPN's Adam Schefter , NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and NFL on CBS' Jonathan Jones all reported that Seattle is expected to be interested in Quinn, which makes sense given his history with the Seahawks. Quinn led the Seahawks from 2009 10 and again from 2013 14 with the "Legion of Boom" defense that featured Earl Thomas, Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor and Brandon Browner.

In January 2022, Quinn signed a multi year extension to remain the Cowboys DC, but took head coaching interviews with the Denver Broncos, Arizona Cardinals and Indianapolis Colts in January 2023. He ultimately decided to stay with the Cowboys . Dallas takes on Green Bay in the Wild Card round on Sunday, Jan.
