Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Carol Perrone, A Beloved Educator and Adventurer

Carol Perrone, a woman whose life was a beautiful equation of dedication, wanderlust, and unwavering love, gracefully completed her journey on December 1, 2023, at the age of 78. A cherished resident of Kensington, and formerly of New Britain, Carol leaves behind a legacy as profound and intricate as the mathematical concepts she so expertly taught.

Born to the late Joseph and Bertha (Krasowski) Perrone, Carol’s early life in New Britain laid the foundation for a future dedicated to learning and connection.

She was the beloved sister of Barbara Perrone Clark, whose late husband Arthur was also a dear part of Carol’s life. Her family circle extended to her devoted niece and nephew, Kimberly Clark and Michael Clark, and his wife JoAnn, who brought immense joy and warmth into her world. The true delight of her later years came from her grandnieces and grandnephews, Joseph and Jillian Clark, whose innocent curiosity and vibrant energy were a constant source of happiness for Carol.

Carol's intellectual journey was as remarkable as her personal one.

She began her education at St. Mary’s School, continued at Mary Immaculate Academy, and then pursued higher learning at the University of Connecticut, where she earned both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Math Education. With a passion for numbers and a gift for teaching, Carol embarked on a distinguished career, dedicating 32 years to shaping young minds as a math teacher at E.C.

Goodwin Technical High School in New Britain. Even after retiring, her commitment to education shone through as she continued to teach part-time at Tunxis Community College, forever a mentor and an inspiration.

Beyond the classroom, Carol embraced life with an adventurous spirit. An avid reader, she found solace and excitement within the pages of countless books.

Her love for exploration took her across continents, from the historic charm of Europe to the sun-kissed shores of the Caribbean, the breathtaking landscapes of Hawaii, and the majestic vistas of Alaska. Each journey was a chapter in her grand story, filled with discovery and cherished memories. Closer to home, she was a devoted fan of UCONN Women’s Basketball, cheering on her beloved Huskies with unmatched enthusiasm.

Carol’s greatest treasure, however, was her family.

She found immense joy in their company, cherishing every moment spent together, especially with her grandnieces and grandnephews. Her warmth, wisdom, and loving presence will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation on Thursday, December 7, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home of New Britain, 116 Winter St., New Britain.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 8, 2023, at 10:00 AM at St. Paul Church, 479 Alling St., Kensington. She will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carol’s memory to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
