Britney Spears returns to Las Vegas for the first time since Victor Wembanyama slap

It’s Britney, bitch! The Princess of Pop returned to Las Vegas over the Christmas holiday about five months after she was slapped by NBA player Victor Wembanyama’s security guard, according to TMZ . Inside sources told the outlet that Spears, 42, stayed at Resorts World and Aria for a handful of nights ahead of Christmas, although it’s not clear if she stayed for the holiday.

She reportedly had a busy agenda while visiting Sin City, where she appeared at the Wynn to watch the new live performance show, “Awakening,” and to chow down at its award winning restaurant, Lakeside. She also received a tour of the brand new luxurious Fontainebleau property, including its LIV nightclub, which TMZ reported she stopped by “briefly,” and its members only club, Poodle Room.

Furthermore, a video shared on social media showed the “Toxic” hitmaker walking in a sparkly pale blue mini dress surrounded by security guards. She attempted to remain incognito by wearing sunglasses and had her signature blond hair crimped. Although Wembanyama didn’t seem to have much of a reaction at the time of the assault, the San Antonio Spurs player later spoke to ESPN reporters to describe what had happened. “We were in the hall. There was a lot of people, so people were calling [at] me, obviously. There was one person who was calling me but we talked before with security,” he recalled.

That’s when Spears attempted to interact with him. “I didn’t see what happened because I was walking straight and didn’t stop,” he said. “That person grabbed me from behind — not on my shoulder — she grabbed me from behind. I just know the security pushed her away.” He added that he didn’t know it was Spears until hours after the incident occurred.

The singer recalled the interaction differently when she took to social media to refute Wembanyama’s comments. “It was really loud, so I tapped him on the shoulder to get his attention. I am aware of the player’s statement where he mentions I ‘grabbed him from behind’ but I simply tapped his shoulder,” she claimed.

She said that’s when the security guard slapped her across the face, knocking her glasses to the floor. Taking aim at the security guard, she said she “gets swarmed by people all the time.” “That night I was swarmed by a group of at least 20 fans. My security team didn’t hit any of them,” Spears noted.

She concluded her message by urging those “in the public eye to set an example and treat all people with respect” and saying she stands in solidarity with victims of physical violence..
