EXCLUSIVE: Brat TV , the Gen Z studio behind digital series like Chicken Girls, has acquired Crypt TV , a similar company in the horror space. The acquisition marks another expansion for Brat TV, which launched its flagship channel in 2016, and now includes Past Your Bedtime, a video podcast network, and an influencer marketing division called Beeline Talent.
Counting more than five million subscribers on YouTube, Brat TV also operates channels on streaming services like Samsung, Tubi and Roku, and partners with advertisers like Lego, Mars Wrigley and Disney. Also in 2023, Crypt partnered with Meta on two virtual reality movies, including Trick VR Treat, written and directed by Eli Roth and starring Vanessa Hudgens.
This year, Brat TV will relaunch Crypt’s digital channels, featuring a new wave of original, creator driven series. Meanwhile, Crypt’s founding team— Jack Davis , Eli Roth and Darren Brandl —will continue developing projects for film and TV. Roth will work on popular Crypt properties like The Look See and Sunny Family Cult.
Investors in Crypt, including Blumhouse, will join Brat TV’s investor base, among them New Line founder Bob Shaye, Anchorage Capital and Lerer Hippeau Ventures. “We’re thrilled to add the Crypt TV brand to our banner, and eager to re engage their millions of fans with brand new content,” said Rob Fishman, Brat TV’s CEO.
“Brat TV’s robust digital reach and relationships with creators will allow Crypt to get back to its roots,” said Jack Davis, Crypt TV’s founder. “I’m excited to continue developing and showcasing Crypt’s I.P., as well as Brat TV’s extensive library, for TV and film,” Davis added.
