Bill Belichick next team odds: Favorite emerges as speculation intensifies

Black Monday in the NFL has come and gone, but the football world is still left wondering: Where will Bill Belichick coach, if at all, next season? DraftKings Sportsbook released odds in select markets on where Belichick will coach in Week 1 of the 2024 season this week, and it could be Hollywood that comes knocking for the six time Super Bowl winner.

The Chargers (+200), who fired head coach Brandon Staley and general manager Tom Telesco last month, are the leaders in the clubhouse for Belichick’s services next season. New England, where Belichick has coached since 2000, has the second best odds (+300) to have him on the sidelines next season.

They are followed by the Atlanta Falcons (+500) and Washington Commanders (+600), with the possibility that he coaches nowhere in 2024, which is also an option at +700. The consensus favorite in the room is the Chargers who disappointed this season, finishing last in the AFC West at 5 12. But with talented players on both sides of the ball and quarterback Justin Herbert behind center, the Los Angeles may just be a good head coach away from making some noise in January.

Belichick has a 266 121 regular season record, a 30 12 playoff record and six Super Bowl wins since joining the Patriots 24 seasons ago. The Pats have fallen on hard times since Tom Brady’s departure after the 2019 season, going 29 38 with just one playoff appearance. This past season, the Patriots posted their worst record of the Belichick era (4 13) amid poor quarterback play .

The Titans, who are also in the market for a new head coach this offseason after their stunning firing of Mike Vrabel , have the sixth best odds. Despite having yet to make any moves on their head coaches, the Giants (+2200) and Jets (+3500) both make the oddsboard as well after their underwhelming seasons..
