Bears fire offensive coordinator as Matt Eberflus survives

The Bears are making significant changes to their staff, but head coach Matt Eberflus has survived. According to multiple reports, the franchise decision makers met for two days before ruling Eberflus’ fate. Offensive coordinator Luke Getsy, though, was fired, as well as members of his staff. It is not the only major decision the franchise faces this offseason as they must figure out whether to keep quarterback Justin Fields or trade him and then use the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft to select the next franchise quarterback. Eberflus has gone 10 24 in his two seasons as Bears coach. He may have saved his job with the Bears finishing the season with five wins in their final eight games.
