Following a wet week, the Bay Area is expected to have a few dry days before the rain picks up again in the middle of the week and into the weekend, according to the National Weather Service. Sunday and Monday are expected to be dry, but some parts of the Bay Area could see one quarter of an inch to three quarters of an inch of rain mid day Tuesday through the evening, according to Dylan Flynn, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.
“By the time the sun comes up Wednesday, most of that will be behind us,” he said. Rain is forecasted to pick back up mid day Friday and is expected to last on and off the remainder of next weekend. In Lake Tahoe, where last week at the Palisades Tahoe Ski Resort, the weather is supposed to be much nicer than the week prior, National Weather Service meteorologist Amanda Young said.
Another weather system is expected to move in Tuesday and Wednesday, but Young said it “isn’t going to be as strong as the previous ones we’ve had here.” At higher elevations, winds could reach up to 90 mph and snowfall could be around six to eight inches mid week. At lake level, Tahoe will see 35 to 40 mph winds and up to an inch of snow during the strongest part of the storm on Wednesday morning..
