Backstreet Boy AJ McLean ‘officially’ splits with wife Rochelle

Backstreet Boys singer AJ McLean and his wife Rochelle are on their marriage after a period of separation. The 45 year old singer announced the decision to fans Monday on Instagram. “As you all know, we have been separated for over a year now,” that New Year’s Day posting said. “While we have hoped for reconciliation we have decided to officially end our marriage.

It is with deep love and respect that we have made this decision.” Rochelle McLean, 42, shared the joint message on as well. “Our focus now is moving forward in the healthiest possible way with friendship and coparenting our girls at the forefront of this next chapter,” their statement reads. “We appreciate your kindness respect and privacy at this time.” The couple in March 2009, according to Us Weekly.

On his 32nd birthday, McClean . McClean, who has struggled with substance abuse in the past, praised Rochelle for being “supportive” and a “true best friend” shortly after popping the question. They married at the end of 2011. The Backstreet Boys scored massive pop hits, including “Everybody” and “I Want It That Way,” in the late 1990s.
