ASUS has just announced the latest addition to their popular ROG Strix and ROG Zephyrus gaming laptops. Introducing new designs and improved technology, the ROG Zephyrus G14 and G16 have received new additions to the popular line and were unveiled alongside the ROG Strix SCAR 18.
at CES 2024, the new ROG Zephyrus G14 and G16 see an upgrade to their design, with an ultra thin CNC machine aluminium chassis, a brand new platinum white colourway and a slash lighting array on the exterior, the new Zephyrus looks sleek and stylish. In other design features, the ROG Zephyrus has an edge to edge keyboard with larger keycaps than previous model and a key depth that should support any purposeful impacts to keys during gameplay.
Also the first ROG OLED laptop with ROG Nebula display, to ensure faster, brighter, and more vivid G SYNC OLED 18 inch displays. The ROG Zephyrus G14 will come with an AMD Ryzen R9 8945HS CPU and RTX 4070 GPU to replace the RTX 4090 that can still be found in older models; due to the Zephyrus’ new, ultra slim chassis, the custom technology is no longer compatible with the upgraded design.
Meanwhile the ROG Strix is getting the new ROG Strix SCAR 18, which will be the first 18 inch laptop in the ROG series, in addition to coming with a mini LED ROG Nebula HDR display. Coming packed with an Intel Core i9 processor and 175W max TGP (total graphics power), the SCAR 18 will also have tri fan tech and full surround vents, in addition to the Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal on both the CPU and GPU, to ensure efficient heat dissipation and ensure the ROG Strix SCAR’s performance remains incredible throughout GPU or CPU intensive gameplay.
Armed with up to 2TB of storage and up to 64GB of RAM, this laptop could definitely replace a desktop computer; it has a large screen size and could potentially rival other powerfulmachines including the Alienware m18 and Razor Blade 18. Realistically replacing a PC may be one of the only practical ways to use the Scar 18, as it’s not the most portable.
Time will tell whether they can be considered some of the on the market. At CES 2024, ASUS unveiled an ultra thin Zephyrus G16, that not only looks better but will also run faster. With its 18 inch display and 16:10 ratio, the Scar 18 has a refresh rate of 240Hz, making it perfect for all types of gaming..
