Assistant with Bard: How Google shrunk Bard’s UI for Android [Gallery]

A more detailed view of the Bard UI on Android and its translation from bard.google.com to a mobile interface has been shared by Dylan Roussel via X/Twitter. Upon enabling the Assistant with Bard, Google clarifies, "Even while I continue learning classic Assistant features, numerous functionalities are already at my disposal. Not to mention, the ‘Hey Google’ command can still be employed for hands-free assistance”. Activating the Assistant with Bard displays a floating bottom panel prompting you to either type, speak or share a photograph. It offers dark and light theme versions, comparable to the current versions, and is displayed in a pill-shaped container with three buttons. Tapping the top-right corner button opens a full-screen homepage with suggestion panels similar to those on bard.google.com. Below these, a chat field labelled "What's on your mind?" can be found, which is expandable. The top-left corner houses a button granting access to your chat history, mapping the Recent/history on the website version, which is found in a sidebar panel. The full-screen conversation view when attaching an image or screenshot for analysis — "Add this screen" — demonstrates a major benefit of AWB's system level access. Bard's responses are complemented by a range of options such as thumbs up/down, Google/Double check response, Share & export, Copy, and Modify response (Shorter, Longer, Simpler, More casual, More professional). A simple home screen shortcut is also provided as another means of activating Assistant with Bard. Access to key settings such as Bard Activity, Extensions, and Updates is granted by tapping the account avatar. The settings of Assistant with Bard are explained on the last page along with the facility to turn off "Use classic Assistant features".
