The release of Apple Vision Pro, initially slated for an "early 2024" launch, more typically refers to any period up to June. However, current indications lean towards a January to February release window, with most recent hints pointing towards January. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman highlighted January 26 as a possible launch date for the Apple Vision Pro, a date being discussed among insiders in China. The information surfaced following a report by MacRumors that suggested this particular date, basing its claim on a somewhat unreliable source.
The initial iPad also hit the market on a Saturday, and Mark Gurman has noted that January 26, similar to the iPad, has been circulating amongst Chinese insiders who allege links to Apple. Gurman's views match with what mini sources have confirmed to AppleInsider.
It's understood that Apple Retail is gearing up for its initial launch during January by undergoing training and setting up in-store units. Apple has made clear its plans to launch the Apple Vision Pro in its retail stores. As a result, customers will need to visit an Apple store physically for fitting purposes. We anticipate that the in-store experience will allow customers to be effectively guided for their initial setup. Most customers are expected to be fitted in the store and then given a receipt to wait for delivery.
The factor that could limit in-store pickups will probably be the requirement for prescription lenses for glass-wearing customers. It is expected that a small supply of standard prescription lenses should be available in Apple stores.
Apple Vision Pro has been priced at $3,499, though the company has yet to explain whether this price includes accessories like a personalized visor or prescription lenses. The launch date will likely be announced by Apple shortly, allowing customers to plan their budgets and visits to the Apple store.
