‘The Finals’ 1.5.0 Update Launches Tomorrow And Brings New Solo Mode

The Finals gets a big new patch tomorrow. Embark Studios has revealed The Finals 1.5.0 update that is due to launch tomorrow, January 17. The 1.5 update will bring with it the first limited time game mode for The Finals , which is a solo battle between multiple players. The highlight of the new patch is Solo Bank It, a new solo mode that pits you against 11 other players in a free for all match.

Exact info on how this works is thin on the ground, but it seems to be similar to other game modes in that the person with the most money collected will win. While The Finals has proven to be one of the best shooters in recent years, having to rely on teammates who can at times be less than ideal, can get tiresome at times.

For many players solo queue has become too hit or miss due to the matchmaking so unless you have some friends to squad with it can be difficult to get a good match. So for players who would rather bet on their own abilities than hope they get some competent teammates, Solo Bank It sounds like a great addition.

There’s also hope that, if players enjoy the new game mode, it could become a permanent addition. So far The Finals dev team has shown that they are willing to listen to player feedback, so if Solo Bank It proves popular it might stick around. Elsewhere the patch will bring with it some new outfits, better security, a lot of quality of life updates and a lot more, including some balance changes to tone down some of the stronger strategies that have been dominating matches in recent weeks.

Some players are calling for a nerf to nukes, but just as many feel they fit with the chaotic nature of The Finals and should remain as they are. The full patch notes for the 1.5.0 update are expected to be released tomorrow, shortly before the patch goes live. Since its surprise launch late last year, The Finals has quickly grown to be one of the most popular shooters in recent years.

Its chaotic fights along with solid map designs and unique features such as the throwable containers you can launch at enemies make it feel fresh in a genre that has struggled to innovate in recent years. With new content like this constantly being added it seems The Finals is here to stay, and it is only getting better as the months go on..
