Drawing from his own experiences, Yuvraj said that franchises are always looking to promote young talents they have heavily invested in. He also stressed the importance of Rohit and his significant achievements as the captain of the side. Every franchise is always looking to promote a young player on whom they have spent a lot, and that is only fair. I have faced this situation too. But then, there can’t be a replacement for experience. Rohit has huge experience and has delivered. But a franchise has to think long term,” Yuvraj told The Times of India .

India, under the leadership of Rohit, had to suffer a disappointing exit from the 2022 T20 World Cup semi final against England.
Rohit recently made a comeback to T20I cricket during the three match series against Afghanistan, though his return did not go according to plan as the India captain failed to score in both the T20Is against the Afghan cricket team. Pandya, on the other hand, has been out of action due to an ankle injury during the ODI World Cup last year.
