The Kerala Congress has taken issue with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), following news reports of a delegation from China's envoy's team visiting the RSS headquarters in Nagpur, Maharashtra. The Congress party took to social media to share a media report on the subject, with the caption, “Ab Ki Baar Xi Jinping?" However, the report makes it clear that the delegation - a group of Chinese scholars specializing in Hindi - attended a workshop at the Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Vishwavidyalaya (Hindi University) in Nagpur on December 7th. It was further added that the RSS stated that the extent of the Chinese team's visit was only to the Hedgewar Memorial in Nagpur for sightseeing purposes, and the delegation did not visit the Sangh headquarters at Mahal. Moreover, no discussions were held between the Chinese delegation and high-ranking officials at Smruti Mandir, a memorial in honour of the Sangh founder, open to the general public and tourists without a visitor log. This controversy arises when the Indian Ministry of External affairs confirms an abnormal relationship status with China. Despite numerous, yet unsuccessful, attempts at diplomatic and military disengagement talks to resolve the long-standing disputes, the situation remains challenging over the past three years. "Our stance on China is well established. It’s an abnormal relationship, but we’ve engaged in dialogues, military and political," said Randhir Jaiswal, the spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs. Previously, he had commented that both nations needed to work together for a functioning relationship.
