Article content Quebec Premier François Legault acknowledged that 2023 “wasn’t the easiest year” in a video message Monday , but stressed that he has confidence for 2024 “because Quebec is an extraordinary nation … we’re capable of doing big things.” The premier posted the video on Facebook to highlight the arrival of 2024, marking the end of a year that saw him take a hit in the polls , lose a Quebec City riding to the Parti Québécois and renew tensions with the province’s anglophone population .
For 2024, Legault said he hopes for health for Quebecers, “because taking care of our people is what’s most important.” He also wished for happiness “by passing time with your loved ones, by discovering a new passion, or just continuing to do the things that make you happy.” Legault added that he hopes for success for young people in their studies.
“We need you, your ideas, and your energy to transform Quebec,” he said. “You’re our future, and I’m very proud of you.”.
