'Great memories, but time for new approach': Fans thank Belichick for 24 incredible seasons

Reaction from Patriots Nation was mixed as fans learned Thursday that the team is parting ways with head coach Bill Belichick. After a record 24 seasons together, the Patriots are parting ways with Belichick ; however, the team ended the season 4 13 — Belichick's worst record in 29 seasons as an NFL head coach.

"I want to thank Bill Belichick for 24 incredible years, six Super Bowls, an incredible set of memories, and one of the greatest coaches of all time. I wish him the best. I thank him for all that, and I look forward to the Patriots returning to championship form," one fan said. "A lot of great memories, but I think it is time for a new approach." “It breaks my heart. He gave us six championships. I grew up watching him every single day. It feels like a piece of my heart is broken," another fan said. "It is time for him to go, but he is still the greatest coach of all time. He's made some questionable personnel decisions," another fan said.

Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady led the team to six Super Bowl titles, and the team stumbled to a 29 38 record when Brady left after the 2019 season. "I think (the split) was definitely coming. Once Tom left, I think the whole organization was up in the air at that point," another fan said..
