Alaska Airlines has put its entire Boeing 737-9 fleet on a temporary halt after an emergency incident occurred mid-flight. The decision was prompted by an exit door detachment on one of these planes, forcing it to conduct an emergency landing in Portland on Friday, local time. The situation caused widespread concern, and Alaska Airlines CEO, Ben Minicucci, expressed his empathy towards the passengers and the crew affected by the situation. "In the wake of the recent event on Flight 1282, we've opted for a safety measure, which is a short-term grounding of our 65 Boeing 737 9 aircrafts," Minicucci announced in an official airline statement. All grounded aircrafts will resume their service post thorough maintenance and safety checks. The plane involved in the incident, carrying 180 souls on board (174 passengers and six crew members), had barely reached a height of 16,000 feet when a sudden cabin depressurisation occurred due to the incident. Remarkably, the pilots managed to steer the plane back safely to the airport. All on board were reported safe with no serious injuries.
