A Tragic End: Young Man Fatally Stabbed While Intervening in Mohali Street Brawl

In a truly heartbreaking turn of events that has left the Mohali community in shock, a 26-year-old man, Inderpreet Singh, tragically lost his life while simply trying to do the right thing. He was fatally stabbed late Saturday night after courageously intervening in a street fight that had erupted outside a dhaba in Phase 11.

Imagine the scene: it was late on Saturday, March 9th, when a dispute between two groups spiraled out of control near Punjabi Rasoi in Phase 11. Inderpreet, a resident of Phase 9, was reportedly with his friends when he witnessed the altercation. According to his distraught family and initial police reports, Inderpreet, known affectionately as Inder, stepped forward in an attempt to de-escalate the volatile situation, hoping to bring an end to the brawl.

Sadly, his noble intentions were met with unimaginable violence. During his attempt to mediate, he was brutally stabbed in the chest. It's a stark reminder of how quickly situations can turn deadly. Following the heinous act, Inderpreet was immediately rushed to the Civil Hospital in Phase 6. Given the severity of his injury, he was subsequently referred to the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGI) in Chandigarh. Despite the best efforts of medical professionals, he tragically succumbed to his injuries.

His father, Palwinder Singh, shared his profound grief with the media, expressing that his son was, by all accounts, a kind soul, a compassionate young man who simply couldn't stand by and watch others fight. He just wanted to help, you know? Now, all his father wants is justice for his beloved son.

Meanwhile, local authorities are on the case. The Phase 11 police station has registered a First Information Report (FIR) under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code, which pertains to murder.
